Long time no blog

Since the last time I posted something a lot has been going on. I have been working on trying to write my patterns and posting them on here. I am going to have to say that it was sort of hard because I kept forgetting to write down every single thing I did. It's easier said than done right? Well I came across another stop a problem. I see a lot of other crochets with crochet charts on their blog, and that is something I am trying to figure out how to do. Once I figure out how to do this I'll be posting a lot of patterns up on here. My first pattern that I did myself was a beach bag. The bag was for my boyfriend Tommy and I for out day at the water park. At first I had a chart and it was the image of the Kottonmouth Kings logo (Tommy's favorite band) and it was going to be a sweater, but that never happened and I really wanted to make something with the logo for him, so I just decided to make a beach bag out it. Well to my amazement it actually came out nice. Although, I ran out of gray yarn so half the bag is green, and half of the bag is gray. But, other than that it came out nice and on time for out water park day. I am gonna post the pattern for a free pattern beach bag. It will be good because I'm sure no "hook-er" (term for people who crochet) has heard of Kottonmouth Kings, so it can just be a plain bag and I'm fine with that. I'll post it after I finish up here.
Now I just made my first doily. I gotten the pattern from CrochetSpot.com I always thought of doilies as just an old person accessory, but when I saw this pattern I figured I could just make it my own and add my own Sara touch to it, I came to love it. Our coffee table now has a little decoration to it, and this boy room now has that feminine touch it thanks to the doily. Here is a picture of my first doily.

Ok here is the new crochet project I have been working lately for my friend Janae's baby shower this weekend. I saw the yellow onesie at a local second hand store called Sister's Closet, then I added the little stars to match the ones on the onesie! Let's see I did this cardigan all in half double crochet, and the stars are mostly just single crochet and one half double crochet in a magic ring. The cardigan was super fast to make, and the star was too. But I am really happy the way this came out! I hope Janae will like it as well!

Stitch 'n Bitch crochet book

Today I was loitering around Joanna looking for a new patterns or some sort inspiration for a new project, then I came along a book called Stitch 'n Bitch: The Happy Hooker. It had everything to know about crochet from stitching, definition, and patterns for the "youthful" crocheting crowd. It
had lots of modern patterns for the more younger crocheters. I thought I hit the jackpot. Lately, It's been hard for me to find some decent patterns that didn't remind me of my grandma (no offence). But this book came along, and thanks to my mom's 40% off coupon the book had a crochet owner at last. =) Here is the link to the website to the book. I hope this comes useful to everyone =)
Happy Crocheting

Saints Beanie

well I just finished my dad Saints beanie! the catch is that I made the fleur de lis TOO big. I'm going to keep in mind next time to make something not too big or not too small. LOL. Also I made this pattern, and I went to ehow.com and a a user named Jessica had shown how to make a crochet pattern. All I did was just get any image I wanted and cut it out and place it on a graph paper and trace it, then from there just fill in the squares to make out the image. So, I gave it a chance, and I just made a little big. If I knew then what I knew now I probably would have made the fleur de lis a little small to fit the beanie. But, here is the finished product. OK now I know it looks a little funny at the top, and thats only because when I started I didn't quite know exactly how to switch off the colors without it looking weird. Once I figured it out it was too late for me to go back and start over. But further down it looks better. LOL it came out a little too big and I had to cut it short, but you can see the point, so it looks alright for my first time. My dad likes it and thats all that matters. =)

The beanie is made of single crochets all around. I haven't quite build my courage to adventure into new stitching when it came to switching colors, but someday I'll get there.

Hello Blogging World

well hello blogging world! this is my first blog of many to come in the future. To say something about myself. My name is Sara I'm 21, I'm a proud member of the Who Dat Nation. Gueax Saints. I have a boyfriend name Tommy, and we're addicts in the Left for Dead community. I have been doing some testing projects to get the hang of the general terms, stitching and just the crocheting community.

My first big project is going to be a beanie I promised my dad since Christmas I know I have been procrastinating his project when I was working on a crochet watermelon scarf I made for my sister. I got the watermelon scraf pattern from a blogger name gegecrochet right from this site. I think she does amazing stuff, and I loved all her projects. Anyway, my first project will be a beanie and this beanie is tricky. The reason being is that its my first beanie that I'm making is a Saints beanie. It's going to have the fluer de lis crocheted on there. I haven't done anything like this, so I had to make a crochet chart. I am going to get this started this weekend so I'll keep everything updated on this and will post pictures of the upcoming project. Wish me luck!
